CUBBIES: Pre-school, 3 – 4 year olds.
The AWANA Club for preschoolers is build on two premises:

  • Young children can and should receive spiritual training
  • Home is the primary place for spiritual training

The AWANA Cubbies program meets these needs through … FUN! – and lots of it! AWANA is fun with a purpose: to reach and train children for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, (including Cubbie Bear and his friends) crafts, awards and other activities transform our pre-school program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

The Cubbies program uses Total Time Teaching, which reinforces one Bible verse and its lesson each week. Parents are involved and are asked to use the same teaching theme in the home throughout the week. The Cubbies curriculum features two handbooks written in a fun, appealing, storybook style, combining Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help a young child grasp a simple Bible truth. All Cubbies work together on the same lesson, but extra work is available for the faster learners.

SPARKS: Kindergarten – Grade 2
The Sparks program builds on the material taught in the Cubbies Club. The aim of Sparks is to take the youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word, while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and to come to faith in Jesus Christ. Clubbers often come to an understanding of a need to trust Christ as their own personal Saviour while in Sparks.

The Sparks program is firmly grounded in Scripture. The three handbooks feature:

  • Basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, Salvation and the Bible.
  • Scripture memory. In the three years, a child will learn and review 68 verses which cover salvation and key doctrines.
  • Clear and consistent presentation of the Gospel message.

Fun learning = results
Sparks Club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and unchurched children alike. The Club program is divided into three segments:

  • Bible teaching, worship, award presentations and the Gospel message
  • Small group interaction and completion of Bible-based lessons
  • Age-appropriate games on the Awana game circle.

Sparky, the friendly fire-fly puppet encourages the children and presents the awards, which are patches, crowns and jewels in the crowns.

T&T Club: Grades 3 – 6

The name TRUTH & TRAINING reflects the passion of Awana to teach third to sixth graders the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.

Exciting features to get kids excited about God’s Word
T&T is equipped with a variety of dynamic tools to accomplish this mission:

  • Four handbooks of increasing difficulty, which teach children that life’s ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • A cast of fun characters that clubbers learn from, and follow on their interesting journeys in the handbooks.
  • Weekly meetings that expose children to the Gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible study, awards, team-oriented games and full-on fun and excitement.
  • A Bible-centred curriculum that helps them build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God’s Word in their hearts and apply the truths of Scripture to their daily lives.
  • Interactive CDs that use high-tech exciting games to teach and reinforce key Biblical truths. Evangelism and discipleship go hand in hand in the T&T program. By the time a child has completed the four years of T&T he/she will have:

Learned and reviewed approximately 310 Bible verses

  • Studied dozens of passages from the Old and New Testaments
  • Regularly heard and read the Gospel message
  • Been given countless opportunities to accept Christ as Saviour and challenged to follow Him as Lord
  • Discovered the Bible’s response to questions like “How does God want me to live my life?” and memorised verses to back up the answers.
  • Completed missions projects that help them view the world through God’s eyes..

TREK 24-7 provides and effective transition between the younger Clubs and the program for senior high schoolers, and is geared for application to the teenage situation, reaching them at all spiritual levels.

JOURNEY 24-7: Grades 9 – 12
The Journey 24-7 program offers three levels: Come See, Come Follow, and Come Serve; to give leaders options for all students, from non-believers to long-term, growing Christians.
In addition to solid Biblical content, Journey 24-7 speaks to student’s development with electives and other materials on topics such as relationships, the future, God’s will, Faith, etc. The lesson materials are presented in a format appealing to youth and recognise the “immediate gratification” element of the information age, providing clear and direct application.
